Vector Space Machines and You...

While at dinner with some friends the other night, I found myself expounding on one of my favorite topics, the Vector Space Machine.

Now, before you click off to another blog, I'll tell you why...

With an ever expanding universe of information, the Vector Space Model, as I think it's called, is a foundational component of how we search for and receive information. The Vector Space Model (or Flux Capacitor as one client so eloquently called it) is the foundation for many Data Mining and Search Engine Tools, and it also helps Advanced Document Capture Systems to quickly and accurately classify one document from another. These concepts grow even more powerful through sites like Last.FM and other social networking sites that connect you to others based on similar tastes.

Now, how this comes up during dinner with friends? Well, as Steve Martin said, I'm just a "wild and crazy guy..."
